Am I Welcome?
Another Right of Return, Biden's Book, Trumps' Threat, Gaza Governance: The Weekly Conquest Week of 12.1.24 – 12.7.24
Welcome to the ZioKnight
Week of December 6, 2024
My Great-Great-Grandfather, Nissim Levy
Nissim Hamui left Syria at the turn of the 20th century. After learning that the boats en route to America were being bombed, he sailed to Argentina. He went by his nickname, Hoha, until he changed it to Levy when he touched ground in the U.S.
His last name is translated to “from Hama,” which the Syrian rebels “liberated” this week. I am Nissim’s namesake and great-great-grandson. Maybe they’ll let me exercise the right of return!
Sunday 12.1
President Biden Holding an Anti-Israel Book
President Biden emerged from a Nantucket bookstore with an extremely anti-Israel book. The author, Rashid Khalidi, is a professor at Columbia University who has praised the first intifada as “the first unmitigated victory for the Palestinians in the long colonial war, Israel as “settler colonial,” and Israel’s actions in Gaza as “genocidal.”
Khalidi’s son thanked Biden for the move by tweeting, “Hey, @JoeBiden, get my father's book out of your blood soaked hands, you genocidal maniac.” [1][2][3]
Monday 12.2
President-elect Trump is aiming to enter the White House with a clean slate, posting on his social media platform that Hamas “will be hit harder than anybody has been hit in the long and storied History of the United States of America” if the hostages aren’t freed expeditiously.
The “Hundred Years’ War” will likely enter a new era if the hostages aren’t released soon… [4]
Tuesday 12.3
Hamas and Fatah are reportedly nearing an agreement on post-war governance of Gaza. Most reports on the topic fail to mention the key detail that Hamas’ main concern is security control. The talks right now are about independent technocratic administration.
I see these discussions as vanity, as they don’t address the meat of a prospective deal. [5]
Wednesday 12.4
Olivia Reingold
The Free Press’ Olivia Reingold went undercover at the 17th Annual Convention for Palestine hosted by American Muslims for Palestine (AMP). The group advises attendees to co-host events with Jewish Voice for Peace to deflect accusations of antisemitism, infuse pro-Palestinian activism into their professions, and convince news reporters that they aren’t supporting terrorism.
AMP is currently facing a House probe, accusing them of substantial ties to Hamas. They may have to do a better job on that last one. [6]
Thursday 12.5
The intergovernmental organization, Amnesty International, is the first major group of its kind to accuse Israel of genocide since 10/7. Swaths of congresspeople are leading a letter to disavow the libelous report. Ritchie Torres (D-NY-15) aptly retorted that “calling Israel a genocidal state is as fictional as calling Amnesty International a human rights organization.” [7]
Friday 12.6
Israel beefed up forces on its northern border with Syria following the rebels’ capture of a town nearby. These precautions were taken in preparation for a surprise attack over the border. [8]
Saturday 12.7
Israeli Soldiers in the Golan Heights
The IDF is aiding UN forces on the Syrian side of the Golan Heights to fend off a Syrian rebel attack. Is this an enemies-turned-lovers arch for the UN and Israel? [9]
Correction
Last week I said, “The deal stipulates that over 60 days, the Lebanese military will take the IDF’s place in Southern Gaza as the IDF retreats into Israel.” I meant “Lebanon” instead of “Gaza,” my apologies.
