Houthi Celebration Following a Missile Strike in Central Israel
A Yemeni Houthi missile snaked through Israeli air defenses. A fragment of it landed in an uninhabited part of central Israel resulting in zero casualties. This was celebrated as a huge victory for the Houthis, as they landed a piece of their first rocket in the region! See their jubilation above! They must have been so excited to learn that no Israelis got hurt! [1][2]
Monday 9.16
Jordanian Flag (top) Palestinian Flag (bottom)
The Jordanian and Palestinian flags are almost indistinguishable, and the same can be said about their people. 66% of Jordanians in the Hashemite Kingdom consider themselves Palestinian. The critical mass of the Palestinian population in Jordan is at extreme tension with the 30-year peace between Israel the country. King Abdullah of Jordan has to strike a fine equilibrium, to allow his citizens to protest while maintaining the mutually beneficial peace between the countries.
His statements about Israel are akin to the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps, but he shot 300 of their rockets out of the sky en route to Israel.
The tension boiled over when a Jordanian man shot and killed three Israeli civilians at the border. Netanyahu reaffirmed that a strong border must be held between the countries with peaceful relations. [3]
Tuesday 9.17
A crowd approached a Student at the University of Michigan and shoved him to the ground, kicked, and spat on him. Why you may ask? Because he didn’t hide his Jewishness when asked if he was a part of the tribe.
On Tuesday, Ethan Marcus, a Jewish Junior at the university shared the following testimonial with The ZioKnight:
“I am doing okay. I know that others are not. When I first heard the news late Sunday afternoon, I was hoping it was a rumor. In fact, I assumed it was a rumor. Clearly, I was wrong. I am just relieved that this particular [person] is physically okay.”
The ADL offers a $5,000 reward for details leading to the perpetrators’ arrests. [4]
Wednesday 9.18
Like me, you may have had no idea what a pager looked like when you heard this news. So here is a picture for reference.
Israel pulled off the most precise attack on terrorists of all time. It is widely reported that Mossad implanted explosives into 3,000 pagers destined for Hezbollah forces in Iraq. Hezbollah used pagers to avoid the risks of surveillance with modern technology.
Israel announced a new war goal of returning the displaced Israelis to their homes in the north and immediately jumped into action with this operation.
The pagers buzzed, the terrorists picked them up, and then they exploded. 12 were killed and almost 3,000 injured, 60-70% of those losing at least one eye. Among those injured is Iran’s ambassador to Lebanon.
Besides the damage done, this was a significant intelligence victory for Israel. The intelligence focus of this operation was evident, as it was not immediately followed by a larger campaign. Israel now knows almost everyone involved in Hezbollah, as they are all maimed by the attack.
This operation is a reminder of how the IDF operates at a precise level, minimizing civilian casualties at all costs. [5][6][7]
Thursday 9.19
A rare report indicating the feelings of Israeli, Hamas, and American negotiators cast doubt over the viability of a hostage release and ceasefire deal. Both sides don’t see how their demands could be bridged and view each other as negotiating in bad faith. This marks a shift from previous statements portraying optimism about the near-term possibility of a deal. [8]
Friday 9.20
Hezbollah Commanders Taken Out by the IDF
Israel launched a strike on a building in Beirut that killed ten high-ranking Hezbollah commanders along with Ibrahim Aqil, the commander of Hezbollah’s elite Radwan Forces. He was wanted by the U.S. for his involvement in a strike killing hundreds of Marines.
The terrorists were meeting in the basement of a residential building in a densely populated area. [9]
Saturday 9.21
The Al Jazeera Office
The IDF raided Al Jazeera’s Ramallah office and issued a 45-day closure order. Israel had previously revoked its press credentials and banned all operations of the platform in mainland Israel, labeling it as a national security threat comprised of “terrorist agents.” Al Jazeera responded by calling all “media outlets and journalists [to] declare full solidarity with Al Jazeera.” The ZioKnight respectfully declines their request. [10][11][12][13]
Question: How much of the national vote does an Israeli party need to get to be represented in Knesset?
Answer: A party needs to be voted in by 3.25% of the electorate. This is on the lower end of the parliamentary system.
Having a lower percentage of people needed for representation is more “democratic” in the sense that more people can impact the Knesset’s makeup.
This can allow representation for minorities that wouldn’t otherwise have had their voices heard. The downside is that it also gives extreme parties a platform. The policy has its ups and downs. [14]
