Week of June 15, 2025
“Freedom Flotilla” and Birthright Cruise
In the past two weeks, two notable ships met Israel’s docks: Greta Thunberg’s “freedom flotilla” and Birthright’s cruise ship. When Israel’s airspace closed, Birthright chartered a boat to evacuate over 1,000 tourists amid Iran’s bombardment. The flotilla may have won the battle over media attention, but I would choose the cruise ship any day.
Sunday 6.15
Historically, one of the worst jobs ever has been as an Iranian nuclear scientist. Eleven were killed in the last week. However, being a television broadcaster for the Iranian regime may be a close second. One of them was warning the U.S. not to escalate on her program and was promptly hit by an Israeli strike. [1]
Monday 6.16
The far left’s boogeyman and boogeywoman, Tucker Carlson and Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, and their counterpart on the other side of the aisle, CodePink top activist, Medea Benjamin, converged. They all came out against the U.S. action against Iran. [2]
Tuesday 6.17
Back in the middle of the political spectrum, a Senate Republican reported that nearly 90% of their conference supports military action against Iranian nuclear facilities, while most Democrats remained undecided. [3]
Wednesday 6.18
Iran struck the Soroka Hospital in southern Israel. Eighty-nine were injured, three seriously. Nearly all of Iran’s strikes against Israel were against civilian infrastructure, while almost none of Israel’s strikes against Iran were, besides the targeted strikes at embedded military targets. [4]
Thursday 6.19
To protect the homeland, the Trump administration boosted monitoring of potential Iranian sleeper cells in the U.S. With involvement comes domestic risk, so the administration is trying to get ahead of any threats. [5]
Friday 6.20
The United States moved numerous military assets into the Middle East. If this were a Friday newsletter, I could have helped your odds on Kalshi prediction markets with this one. [6]
Saturday 6.21
Iranian Fordow Nuclear Site (Before Strike)
The U.S. successfully struck Iran’s three main nuclear facilities, including Fordow, Natanz, and Esfahan. The three sites were deeply entrenched underground. Israel doesn’t have conventional bombs or delivery planes capable of taking them out. The U.S. dropped six bunker-busting bombs and launched thirty cruise missiles, completely destroying the targets. There were no American casualties. President Trump announced that if Iran accepts peace, the war will end, but if not, more strikes are coming their way. I am just waiting for the pictures now. [7][8]
