Spreadsheet Showing Proportions (Red) of Edits Made by Anti-Israel Volunteers about Israel and Palestine
Pirate Wires uncovered a concentrated effort to influence mainstream thought on Israel. A 40-strong group of high-level Wikipedia editors have made 850,000 edits to deface Israel on the platform known for its neutrality.
By changing lines on the Zionism page, such as “restoration of the Jews to their homeland” to “the colonization of Palestine by European Jews” and removing early Palestinian connection to Nazism, the group has been methodically eroding Israel’s image.
Wikipedia is decentralized, given priority status on Google, volunteer-lead, and is being folded into large language models generating AI chatbots. The subtle fringe theories being infused into mainstream opinions on Israel are being proposed as fact, which is a concerning development adulterating the platform’s ethos. [1]
Monday 10.28
The Israeli parliament overwhelmingly voted to ban UNRWA from operating on Israeli sovereign soil and working in collaboration with Israeli government officials. The bill contains a provision allowing 90 days of operation to have different organizations to fill UNRWA’s gap in providing humanitarian aid.
The bill was passed because of UNRWRA’s continued collaboration with Hamas. An Israeli intelligence report shows that 10% of their staff has connections to either Hamas or Palestinian Islamic Jihad. Over 25 employees engaged in the 10/7 massacre, missiles were shot from their institutions, and arms were stored in their schools.
The Palestinians are the only group of refugees with their own UN agency, so the Knesset move is unilaterally leveling the playing field. [2][3]
Tuesday 10.29
A new Associated Press poll gauged US sentiment about the war in the Middle East.
25% sympathize more with the Israelis, 15% more for the Palestinians, 31% both equally, and 26% for neither.
60% blame Hamas, Iran, and Hezbollah for the escalations, while 40% blame Israel.
55% of voters favor imposing sanctions on Iran.
When surrounded by people with similar opinions, it is easy to form an echo chamber. Polls are a helpful way to take a step back and see what the general public thinks about an issue. [4][5]

Fred Unmasking a Villain in Scooby-Doo
Reading the news recently has brought me back to the simple childhood joy of reading a Scooby-Doo book. Every week there’s another Iranian spy uncovered in Israel!
This episode revealed a couple hired by Iran to identify an assassin and scout out security sites.
Check back next week for a new mystery! [6]
Thursday 10.31
Ariane Tabatabai
You didn’t have to wait long for new espionage news! Remember Ariane Tabatabai, the Pentagon official suspected of leaking Israeli plans to retaliate against Iran? She was mysteriously demoted from the chief of staff in the Office of Special Operations and Low-Intensity Conflict to a position in troop education and training.
She moved from having access to the highest level of military special operation intelligence to virtually none at all. Her relocation wasn’t explained, so I guess the situation remains a mystery! [7]
Friday 11.1
Former President Bill Clinton
Former US President, Bill Clinton, spoke to a Michigan audience defending Israel with clear-eyed common-sense analysis. He said:
“The people there were the most pro-friendship with Palestine, the most pro-two state solution of any of the Israeli communities, were the ones right next to Gaza, and Hamas butchered them…
The people who criticize [Israel] are essentially saying, 'Yeah, but look how many people you've killed in retaliation, so how many is enough to kill to punish them for the terrible things they did?…'
That all sounds nice until you realize. What would you do if it was your family and you hadn't done anything but support a homeland for the Palestinians, and one day they come for you and slaughter the people in your village?”
Mic drop. [8]
Saturday 11.2
Russia and Iran are expected to further their strategic partnership before the end of the year. A Russian state television broadcast expressed their “desire for closer cooperation in the field of defense and interaction.”
Since 10/7, Russia has been supplying the Houthis in Yemen with intelligence to strike Western vessels. Each missile the Houthis launch costs $1-$4 million to intercept.
The Russians are incentivized to further inflame the Middle East by diverting US military spending from Ukraine to other global engagements. [9]
