Congressional Baseball Game
At first glance this may seem like any other baseball game. But if you zoom in, you will notice that players in red are wearing MAGA hats and the other team is wearing a medley of uniforms. That is because it is the Congressional Baseball Game, where Democratic members of Congress face off Republicans, and usually lose.
As a fan in the crowds, it was nice to see some members of the tribe (Dan Goldman [NY-10], Mike Levin [CA-49], Jared Moskowitz, FL-23, Craig Goldman [TX-12]) bring the spirit of Sandy Koufax. I wasn’t that surprised when the team with more of us got annihilated.
Sunday 6.8
Hamas stopped the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF) from operating once again. For reference, it was shut down by Hamas four of the previous seven days. Hamas’ power in Gaza stems from its weapons and distribution of food. Until GHF cut them out of the aid network, they had sold the aid to the Gazans for money to buy weapons. So, needless to say, Hamas and GHF have a contentious relationship. [1]
Monday 6.9
Being a dog parent just got a lot harder in Iran with a slew of new rules. Walking a dog or transporting one by car is now illegal in most Iranian cities. Dog ownership has been frowned upon since the Islamic Revolution, when the Mullahs took power. Anti-regime youth have been turning to pets as a silent protest against the government. So hide your girls and hide your dog because the Islamic Regime rules the town. [2]
Tuesday 6.10
The US Military CENTCOM presented the administration plans to strike Iran. They weren’t quick enough because Israel beat them to it. [3]
Wednesday 6.11
President Trump gave the Iranians 60 days to negotiate. On day 60, he withdrew most Americans from the region. On day 61, it became clear why. [4]
Thursday 6.12
Israeli Precision Targeting Against Iran
Israel determined that Iran was on the precipice of making the break for nuclear weapons. An IDF official told The Jerusalem Post that Iran had enough enriched uranium to produce 15 nukes in days. So, Netanyahu ordered an independent preemptive strike on the Islamic Republic.
Israel initially struck targets that would only succeed with surprise, such as highly enriched uranium stocks, at least seven top military officials, and nine nuclear scientists. The IDF announced the campaign won’t end soon. The details on the operation are currently sparse. We know that there was some covert action setting into motion a meeting of Iranian leaders, secret manufacturing of drones, and smuggling. Still, insiders say that when the details are divulged, the beeper operation will pale in comparison. [5][6]
Friday 6.13
Iranian Missile Hitting Tel Aviv
Israel launched strikes on the Natanz nuclear facility. This was a critical step in defanging the Iranian nuclear program. Iran responded by launching nearly 200 missiles at civilian buildings in Tel Aviv. Three Israelis died and 80 were injured. [7][8][9]
Saturday 6.14
Burning Oil Facility Near Tehran
Instead of lighting the candles, Israel started its Shabbat by lighting up another wave of Iranian nuclear depots, oil facilities, and 30 top military officials. Iran responded by launching rockets back at Israel, killing eight and injuring at least 200. [10]
