Deportations, Grok, UNWRA, Georgetown, Druze, the Elusive Deal, Defense Bill, Syria: The Weekly Conquest Week of 7.13.25 – 7.19.25
Welcome to the ZioKnight
Week of July 13, 2025
Over the past year, Iran conducted a mass expulsion of 1.4 million Afghans, with 600,000 being deported in June alone, and plans for 4 million more this year. Compare that with the highly publicized 435,000 from the U.S. I’m waiting for the next protest down 5th Avenue.
Sunday 7.13
The AI agent Grok randomly went on an antisemitic rant. I am highlighting this here because I know lots of college students read this. If you use AI for your assignments, make sure to double-check for any Nazi talking points before submitting. [1]
Monday 7.14
The U.S. is the largest funder of the U.N. Recognizing this, Congress is advancing a bill to impose oversight on UNRWA by leveraging funding. [2]
Tuesday 7.15
A Georgetown professor was fired for posting on X that he hoped Iran would strike a U.S. base. I try really hard to see things from other people’s perspectives, but this time, I relent. [3]
Wednesday 7.16
Here is the background for why Israel struck Syria: there was fighting between the Druze and Bedouin that resulted in 250 dead. The Syrian government sent in forces with the official reasoning to stop the fighting. The Druze claimed and provided extensive photo and video evidence that the Syrian troops were massacring their community. Israeli Druze crossed the border into Syria to help their brethren. Israel intervened to protect the Druze and enforce the demilitarized zone in Syria, where the Druze were inhabiting near the border. [4]
Thursday 7.17
I’ve said it for the past two weeks, and I will repeat it again: the U.S. says a Hamas hostage release deal is “closer than it’s been.” [5]
Friday 7.18
After a vote to block it failed 422-6, the U.S. House of Representatives passed its yearly defense appropriations package. It funds the following U.S.-Israel participation programs: $500 million for missile defense, $55 million for counter-drone defense, $47.5 million for counter-tunnel defense, and $35 million for technology. [6]
Saturday 7.19
The ceasefire in southern Syria has been frequently broken. 2,000 Israeli Druze have committed to cross the border and support their fellow Druze if the hostilities don’t end soon. President Trump floated the idea of sending U.S. medical equipment. [7][8]
