The Numbers Lied
Revolution, Hamas Health, A Sketchy Seminar, Israeli Income, AAA, Israel's Enemies: The Weekly Conquest Week of 12.15.24 – 12.21.24
Welcome to the ZioKnight
Week of December 15, 2024
The countdown is on! Three days until history’s most famous Israeli’s birthday!
Sunday 12.15
I’ve been taking it as a given that the Hamas-run Gazan Health Ministry numbers have been off. A 40-page quantitative analysis was just released by a British think tank confirming my suspicion.
Adults are reported as children, men as women, and natural deaths as incurred by the IDF. News outlets have been overwhelmingly using these numbers in place of IDF numbers and stirring doubt about the IDF ones far more than the Palestinian ones. [1]
Monday 12.16
Joseph Massad Rate My Professor
I always make sure to do some research on professors before taking their college classes. Hopefully those at Columbia do the same, because Joseph Massad is teaching their class on the “History of the Jewish Enlightenment in 19th century Europe and the development of Zionism.”
He is the protege of Edward Said, who is the pioneer of the modern intellectual anti-Israel movement. Massed called 10/7 “awesome,” “incredible,” and “astounding.” See what some of his students said about him above. [2][3]
Tuesday 12.17
Those educated at Tik Tok University may think that Israelis are global elites exploiting another group to support their lavish lifestyle. In reality, Israel has the second highest poverty rate of OECD states (a group of mostly rich nations), at 17.8 percent. Growing inflation and slow wage growth have been squeezing Israeli budgets.
On the bright side, charity plays a large role in subsidizing those who struggle in Israel. [4][5]
Wednesday 12.18
Jewish groups have been advocating for the Senate to pass the Antisemitism Awareness Act. This bill would ratify a strong definition of antisemitism, including anti-zionism, into law. Senator Chuck Schumer, the most senior Jewish politician and Senate Majority Leader, shied away from bringing it to a stand-alone vote, as was likely concerned about the optics of Democratic senators voting against it.
Instead, he hoped to attach it to an omnibus bill, which failed to happen. The odds lend to it remaining in legislative purgatory for the rest of the 118th Congress. [6][7]
Thursday 12.19
Jeffrey Sachs went on Tucker Carlson’s show explaining that “Syria was a normal, functioning country” until the American “Israel Lobby” forced the U.S. to collaborate with Israel to topple Syria to hurt Palestinians and get oil. These claims were so removed from reality that the Israeli Diaspora Minister labeled the show as the “leading platform” for “blood libel enthusiasts.” [8][9]
Friday 12.20
HTS Syrian Resistance Leader, Abu Mohammed al-Jolani
Amid the uncertainty in Syria, U.S. diplomats had a “good” meeting with him, leading to his $10 million bounty being removed. This was American officials’ first post-Assad visit to the country. [10]
Saturday 12.21
Houthi Missile Strike in Tel Aviv
A Houthi Missile landed in a Tel Aviv playground, injuring 30. Of them, 16 were hurt by shattered glass and 14 while running to shelter. The Iron Dome failed to intercept the rocket. [11][12]
