The Promised Land
Florida, Hamas Recalculation, Shapiro, Iranian Nuclear Program, Gazan Food, IDF Discipline: The Weekly Conquest Week of 4.15.25 – 4.20.25
Welcome to the ZioKnight
Week of April 15, 2025
After spending a week in Palm Beach with my grandparents, I learned I go by a new name: “the grandson who doesn’t go to Princeton.” While I still don’t go to Princeton, it will be nice to resume going by my old name back in school post-Pesach.
Tuesday 4.15
I had a conversation with an anti-Zionist peer last semester who told me that in a debate, we must agree on numbers. He asserted that Hamas’ death count was the most accurate and that Israel’s continuation of the war couldn’t be justified due to the sheer number of women and children killed.
Hamas previously said 70% of Gaza's casualties were women and children. Hamas updated their statistics that 72% of the casualties are men between 13 and 55. Maybe it’s time to have a follow-up conversation. [1]
Wednesday 4.16
Governor Josh Shapiro's Instagram
The alleged arsonist of the Pennsylvania Governor’s Mansion was motivated by his disdain for Governor Shapiro’s pro-Israel views. The perpetrator also claimed he would’ve attacked him with a hammer if he had the opportunity. Governor Shapiro responded to the uncovered information that he will continue to practice his faith proudly and posted a chocolate matza bark baking video on Instagram. [2][3]
Thursday 4.17
President Trump called off a joint U.S.-Israel strike intending to destroy the Iranian nuclear program. While I wasn’t in the room where it happened, I can imagine it sounded like the signal chat regarding Yemen, where isolationist-leaning figures in the administration were against U.S. involvement overseas.
Trump responded to the reporting, saying it was merely a delay until after the negotiation is tried. [4][5]
Friday 4.18
Aid Truck Heading Into Gaza
Gazan food reserves have a month of stock remaining. The Knesset is negotiating methods to distribute aid through civilian groups in a way that won’t help Hamas. [6]
Saturday 4.19
A second round of U.S.-Iran talks was held in Rome. The U.S. is mulling whether it believes a strike or diplomacy will be a better option to prevent nuclear weaponization, while Israel is considering a strike regardless of the U.S.’ decision. [7][8]
Sunday 4.20
The IDF had a probe into the death of 15 Gazan aid workers that I spoke about in last week’s newsletter. It found fault in the soldiers, censured their commander, fired their deputy commander, and criminal charges are pending. [9]
